VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Activities with elders include but are not limited to:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Reading
  • Playing Games
  • Gardening
  • Resident Outings
  • Operation: HUG DAY
  • Adopt-An-Elder Holiday Project
  • Holidays
  • Special Events

Other Volunteer Opportunities include:

  • Hug Squad Volunteers visit facilities on Hug Day to share hugs and visit with elders. Senior facilities are encouraged to celebrate monthly, i.e. the 1st Thursday, 2nd Wednesday, etc.

  • Facility Wish List Collections - Needs vary from facility to facility including Art Supplies, Greeting Cards, Stationery, Pens, Stamps, Stuffed Animals, Large Print Books, Games, Slippers, Socks, Music Books/Tapes/CDs/Videos & Movie Videos, etc.

  • Hugs for Health Ambassadors help establish and grow programs in your community.

  • Behind the Scenes working directly with Hug Headquarters fundraising, event planning and program development.
